I don't know if there is anything, other than manual elbow grease, to solve this problem, but I've noticed that IA and a LOT of sites that list titles alphabetically list anything beginning with "The ....." under "T". In the new sci-fi/horror section, I just observed no fewer than 30 entries under "T", of which only 3 have titles beginning with something other than "The .....". (The same problem holds true with "A ...." and "An ...." of course, but "The" is the worst offender.) Can't a sorting program be devised that accounts for this and sorts, say, "The Bat" under "B" instead of "T"?

I've hesitated for a week or so to pose this too slight question, certainly because pedantic should not be used to describe neither you nor me. Nonetheless, why a classification system that has "Science Fiction/Horror" as a species? Rather like an ancient Egyptian deity, a piebald thing.
